The implementation of sharps injury prevention policies facilitates hospital institutions in reassessing the quality of their efforts to protect their staff nurses. It is for these reasons that the researcher intends to identify the level of compliance of nurses in the Cordillera Administrative Region and the factors that influence their compliance. All these must be established in order to improve the quality of the workplace for all practicing nurses. A total of two hundred thirty-seven {237) staff nurses answered the study questionnaire.

The study determined the extent of nurse-coached interventions rendered to families of clients confined in tertiary hospitals of La Union.  The families are very satisfied with the level of health teachings of interventions in terms of complication prevention, while satisfactory level was obtained in terms of safe medication administration and pain control and management.  The families moderately implement the nurse-coached interventions in terms of complication prevention, safe medication administration, and pain control and management.  There were identified strengths and weaknesses of the nurse-coached interventions.  A proposed training and educational plan was formulated based on the findings of the study.

The study dealt with the extent of knowledge on and compliance to health regimens among hypertensive patients in the City of San Fernando, La Union. The study disclosed that the respondents were highly knowledgeable on health regimens about hypertension particularly with the disease entity, diet, lifestyle and medication. Also the respondents have high compliance on health regimens in terms of diet, lifestyle, medication and follow-up care. Besides, the result shows that there is significant relationship between the extent of knowledge on and extent of compliance to health regimens among hypertensive patients.
